Smoking Tungsten Lights

Smoking Tungsten Lights

Fresnel Tungsten 2000W Light
2000W Pro Fresnel Tungsten Halogen Video Spotlight

Tungsten continuous lighting generates a considerable amount of heat especially the higher wattage models.  On first usage new lights can emit smoke and occasionally an odor which is perfectly normal, this ‘burning in’ can sometimes take 30-40 minutes and usually after this initial period no further smoking or odor will occur.

If you notice smoking after an initial period of ‘burning in’ this can often be down to dust that has settled on the lamp or oils from the fingers transferred while adjusting the lamp or the barn doors, this should burn of quickly and only last for a few minutes.

Top Tip: Never touch a bulb with your bare hands when installing it, the grease from your fingers can greatly reduce the lifespan of the bulb and cause it to break.
